Role Overview:
The IE Manager will lead the Industrial Engineering team to optimize production processes, improve line efficiency, and support continuous improvement initiatives. This role is critical in driving productivity, cost-effectiveness, and operational excellence across the factory.
Key Responsibilities:
- Develop and implement standard operating procedures (SOPs) for all production processes
- Conduct time and motion studies to establish accurate SMVs (Standard Minute Values)
- Plan and balance production lines to achieve optimal efficiency
- Monitor and analyze line performance, identify bottlenecks, and implement corrective actions
- Collaborate with production, planning, and quality teams to ensure smooth workflow
- Lead continuous improvement projects using Lean, Kaizen, or Six Sigma methodologies
- Train and mentor IE staff and production supervisors on best practices
- Support new style development and pre-production planning
- Prepare and present efficiency reports, KPIs, and improvement plans to management
- Ensure compliance with safety and sustainability standards
Requirements:
- Bachelor’s degree in Industrial Engineering, Textile Engineering, or related field
- Minimum 5–8 years of experience in IE within a knit apparel manufacturing environment
- Strong knowledge of cotton knit garment production processes
- Proficiency in SMV calculation, line balancing, and productivity analysis
- Familiarity with Lean Manufacturing, Kaizen, and 5S principles
- Excellent analytical, leadership, and communication skills
- Proficient in Excel, IE software tools such as GSD, FastReact and ERP systems
- Fluent in English; Khmer language skills are a plus
Preferred Skills:
- Experience in setting up new production lines or factories
- Knowledge of automation and digital IE tools
- Ability to work in a fast-paced, multicultural environment
